Some love stories begin in a single moment. Ours was written slowly—through years of shared spaces, quiet nearness, and timing that never quite lined up, until it did.
We both grew up in Greensboro, NC, attending the same schools, spending weekends on the same soccer fields, sometimes even wearing the same team colors. There are childhood photos of us just feet apart—two kids with no idea that one day they'd fall in love. Our best friends, Abigail and Benjamin, who are siblings—kept us close without meaning to. Through them, we were always just a room, a field, or a backyard away.
At Southeast High School, we each played on our school’s soccer teams. Even then, we were close in proximity but never in step. We knew of each other, but our lives ran parallel. Until the summer of 2020.
That summer, life slowed down just enough for us to really see each other for the first time. Late-night conversations turned into long drives, laughter became comfort, and friendship grew into something neither of us could imagine being without. By winter, we were inseparable and officially began dating.
In 2021, we packed up and moved to Wilmington for a new adventure and memories. A year later, we came back home to Greensboro, where we’ve built a life filled with love and laughter, along with two dogs, Rylo and Rummi, and a cat named Luna.
Then, during the spring of 2024 at a vineyard tucked away in the hills of Italy, that life took its next step. With full hearts and the easiest "Yes!", forever became official.
Looking back, it’s hard not to feel like the universe always had a plan. We spent years in each other’s world without realizing what we’d one day mean to each other. Every near miss, every passing glance, every shared moment we didn’t think twice about—each one was quietly leading us here.
We have truly become best friends, teammates, and now soon, husband and wife. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with the people who were a part of our story long before we even knew it was being written.
